Description

A delicious breakfast morning treat!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE FRENCH TOAST:
  • 1 loaf Hawaiian Bread (Challah Also Works Well)
  • 10 whole Eggs
  • ¼ cups Half-and-half
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • _____
  • FOR THE BANANA SAUCE:
  • 4 Tablespoons Butter
  • 3 Tablespoons Brown Sugar
  • ¼ cups Maple Syrup
  • ½ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 2 whole Bananas, Sliced
  • _____
  • FOR THE WHIPPED CREAM:
  • ½ cups Heavy Cream
  • ¼ cups Maple Syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar

Preparation

Slice up your loaf of bread into 1-inch thick slices.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half and cinnamon. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture, being sure to coat both sides.

Cook up on a griddle for about 2–3 minutes on each side or until cooked through.

For the banana sauce, in a pan on the stove set to medium low heat, melt up the butter and add in the brown sugar. Add to the mixture the syrup, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Add in the bananas. Stir to coat bananas completely. Remove from heat.

To make the whipped cream, whip together your cream, maple syrup and sugar until stiff peaks form.

Serve the French toast with the banana sauce over it, topped with the whipped cream.

LOVE the banana sauce! i gave it four stars because it was very, very sweet – a little too close to dessert for a Sunday morning. i skipped the whipped cream completely, and next time will probably just use regular bread – we couldn’t taste the sweetness of the hawaiian bread and figured it wasn’t worth the extra sugar.
