A delicious little treat that is (a little) healthier than its fried counterpart. I’m sure this recipe would work in a donut pan and baked in the oven as well.
Combine dry ingredients. Melt butter and add to the dry ingredients along with the milk and egg. Pour batter into a pitcher or into a large piping bag.
Preheat the donut maker. When ready, spray generously with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour batter into the donut maker to fill the hole. Bake (in the donut maker—there is only one set temperature for mine) for approximately 4 minutes and flip the donut so they are brown on both sides. This is not 100% necessary but I like a uniformly browned donut.
Take out of the donut maker and toss directly into a bag filled with the cinnamon and sugar, if desired. A quick glaze with milk, a dash of vanilla and powdered sugar would be great on these as well!
Enjoy!

Oh my goodness! I LOVE coconut. Totally going to try that next time. Thanks for the tip!

We made these again tonight (I think my husband likes our little yellow donut machine more than I do!) and added about 1/3 cup of shredded coconut and 3/4 t. coconut extract. Spectacular! This is an excellent base recipe for all kinds of creativity. Thanks!
