I just made this and realized I somehow left out the salt!…still really good though! I will definitely be making this again!

I’ve made a lot of bread — especially whole grain bread — over the last 20 years, and this is a wonderful recipe. Really delicious. Firm enough for sandwiches yet soft and moist with a great taste. Definitely recommended!

I’m 17, this was my first try at making bread. It turned out amazing! Absolutely delicious, and it was pretty easy! I’m never going back to store-bought!

Excellent recipe. Dough incredibly easy to work with. Made cloverleaf buns with my dough. Grease muffin tins and place three small balls of dough in each tin. Let rise till doubled, brush lightly with melted butter and bake 375 degrees for ~ 20 mins. Brush with melted butter when they are done. Very good. Will try all white flour next time to see how that goes. Excellent recipe. Thank you.

I have been wanting to try this recipe for months and finally did today and it turned out very yummy. Now to transition my children to homemade bread for their sandwiches!

This was so good! I used instant yeast instead of active dry, so I used 3.5 tsp and added it to the first 3 cups of flour/salt. I mixed that and then put the honey/butter/water in (still at 110*). Other than that I followed the recipe exactly and it is delicious!

My husband and I really enjoyed this bread! I couldn’t get my kids to eat it, but they are super picky.

This is fool proof. I know, because I’m the fool who forgot to put the blade in the bread machine. After a major mess, kneaded it into dough and carried on–and it is really good. Looking forward to trying again in a more conventional way.

Wonderful, flavorful bread that is perfect for sandwiches. Because there is just the two of us, I tightly wrapped and froze the second loaf. It defrosted beautifully the next week. This one is a keeper!

Amazing bread. I changed out a cup of wheat flour for a cup of ground flax seed for some added healthy stuff and it turned out amazing! Such an easy recipe and delicious hearty bread. I sliced, wrapped and put in the freezer to keep longer since there are no preservatives.

I think this will be my regular, everyday, sandwich bread recipe from now on- it’s that good! I’ve been looking for a good, healthy recipe for bread that doesn’t crumble or fall apart when used for sandwiches and so on, and I think this fits the bill! Thank-you!

good grief this bread is yummy! i cut the recipe in half and made the dough in my bread machine. i had to add a bit more water (i usually do in my machine). after the dough cycle was done, i plopped it in a loaf pan and let it rise again about an hour, then baked it for 40 minutes. my boyfriend and i each ate 2 slices before it cooled! my 21-month-old loves it toasted with peanut butter. she ate her slice and half of mine this morning! thank you so much for a great (and easy) go-to bread recipe!

Love it! I’ll make this recipe again and again. I wanna try to experiment with some add-ins… I’m thinking sunflower seeds for starters.

I made two loaves last week and we just finished the last slice yesterday – sooo good! My dad made a recipe just like this when I was young so it was very nostalgic for me. The texture is wonderful and the oats and wheat flour balance out the sweetness of the honey perfectly. Thank you for sharing

How many packets of yeast should I use to get 4.5 Tbs?

I was very pleased with this bread, and had no problems with the recipe other than having to add quite a bit more flour as it was too sticky but that always seems to happen to me. The bread has a great flavor, and was easy to slice. I’ve given it the biggest compliment around here, which is to stick the recipe onto my fridge with a magnet which means it’s going to made again soon!
