Description

Perfect bites of egg-less (and vegan!) cookie dough dipped in decadent dark chocolate … these truffles are not for the faint of heart.

Ingredients

  • 2-½ cups All-purpose Flour
  • 1-½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 cup Butter Or Margarine, Room Temperature
  • ¾ cups Sugar
  • ¾ cups Packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • ⅓ cups Milk Or Soy Milk
  • 1 cup Mini Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 14 ounces, weight Dark Chocolate Candy Coating

Preparation

Beat butter and sugars and in a large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add soymilk and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt and mix on low speed (or by hand) until incorporated. Stir in chocolate chips.

Cover and chill dough for 1 hour.

When dough is firm enough to handle (it may help to lightly flour your hands), form dough into 1″ balls and arrange on a baking sheet lined with waxed paper. Place sheets in the freezer and let chill for 30 minutes.

Melt chocolate candy coating in a double boiler or in the microwave according to package directions. Using forks or a dipping tool, dip cookie balls into the candy coating to cover. Tap fork on the side of the pan to remove any excess coating, and return to the waxed paper-lined baking sheets. Chill until set. Store, chilled, in an airtight container for up to 1 week (though good luck making them last that long).

I have made these numerous times, this weekend I made them for a bake sale, I put 2 on a small skewer and dipped them in white or dark chocolate, they were the best seller of the day, everyone loved them!

I saved this recipe when i saw it a while ago and wanted to wait for an occasion to make it. I added it to my holiday baking and I made a batch last week and froze it in hopes not to eat them all. That hope didn’t work out to well because they were so tasty and I kept on popping a few in my mouth each night and between my husband and I we at the entire batch in a week. I made up a new batch last night and they will stay in the freezer until it’s time to give them out, haha. Great recipe!

I made these today for a trial run for my Christmas platters. I made a 1/4 recipe or 9 servings, it made 20 truffles with my #100 scoop. Very good taste, I omitted the baking soda since it is unnecessary and I added a 1/8 cup more flour. I think butter is better to use than margarine, as the butter firms up where the margarine doesn’t upon refrigeration.

I would love to make these for my friend’s wedding shower, but I am flying in for the shower. Can you offer any suggestions for flying with these?

Wow, I have to say these are just amazing. I made them for a group of people (it made about 60) and I thought they would each take 2-3… I was lucky it made so many, as everyone just kept eating them!

So yummy!

People liked these, but didn’t love them to bits (which is what I’m looking for in something so rich). Fun, but don’t expect to make these again.

AWESOME recipie. I made these for valentines day & they were a huge hit. Were all gone within two days.
My friend actually requested to have me make these for her in lieu of a birthday present, so I just made another batch, and they are super delicious. Eating one right now, in fact. :)

I made these as gifts for my sons teachers, they were a huge hit!
I omitted the baking soda and salt.
I usually don’t eat cookie dough but these were really good.

Super easy to make and super delicious to eat! I specifically didn’t even chocolate coat few for myself because the dough was so delicious on its own. I think the batter it strong enough to stand up to a visit to my icecream maker for a homemade cookie dough batch! They were a sweet, decadant, treat and everyone really loved them. Thanks!
