Description

An easy dish to prepare for an appetizer or to make a sandwich from. Heck, they are good enough to eat alone.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Shrimp, Peeled And Deveined
  • 1 whole Large Egg
  • 1 whole Green Onion
  • ½ teaspoons Fresh Ginger, Minced
  • 1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro, Minced
  • ½ teaspoons Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sweet Chili Sauce
  • ½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1 pinch Ground Pepper
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Peanut Or Vegetable Oil

Preparation

Coarsely chop shrimp. In a large bowl, combine shrimp, egg, green onion, ginger, mustard, cilantro, hot pepper sauce, sweet chili sauce, salt, and pepper. Add 1 cup panko to the bowl and combine using your hands. Form mixture into twelve 3-inch-diameter cakes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Working in batches, fry cakes until cooked through and golden brown on both sides, adding more oil to skillet as needed, about 6 minutes.

Can’t wait to make these tomorrow, they look fantastic! (And how cute would these be as smaller balls on long skewers for an appetizer?) Thanks for the recipe!

I am not a seafood fan but my husband says that it’s definitely 5 star restaurant quality! He said that had this been on the menu at a restaurant, he would have a new favorite from now on. Easy to make and were devoured quickly.
