This is a yummy recipe for slow cooker chili that you can easily put on the stove top to simmer for an hour or can leave on low in the slow cooker for up to 10 hours. It’s tasty, smoky, and will warm you up on any day!
.) Over medium high heat, brown the hamburger meat in a medium sized pan. Salt and pepper the raw meat. Strain fat away when browned.
.) Add the meat, onions, beans, tomatoes, water, s&p, cumin, red pepper flakes, and chili powder to the slow cooker.
.) Set the slow cooker on low and simmer for at least 6 hours. (Here you could also just put everything in a big pot on the stove and let it simmer for an hour).
.) Serve in a big bowl and top with your choice of the optional ingredients.
