This recipe tastes like there is barbecue sauce in it, but there’s not a drop. I get asked to make it again and again.
In a large pot, brown ground beef with garlic and onion. Add seasoning packet, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne, chili powder, and brown sugar. Stir well.
Add tomatoes and kidney beans and stir again. Add salt and pepper if desired and let simmer until heated through. Allow additional time to simmer if desired to let flavors blend more thoroughly. Serve with your favorite toppings.
As with any chili recipe, this can be customized as desired. The longer it simmers, the better it is. I sometimes put black olives and sour cream and bacon on top.
