Description

This is THE best chili. I’ve been making chili for years, trying every recipe I can get my hands on and this one hands-down is the best I’ve ever tasted.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef
  • 1 cup Diced White Onion
  • 29 ounces, fluid Can Tomato Sauce
  • 29 ounces, fluid Kidney Beans (with Liquid)
  • 29 ounces, fluid Can Pinto Beans (with Liquid)
  • ½ cups Diced Green Chilied (2 Chilies)
  • ½ cups Diced Celery (2 Stalks)
  • 3 whole Medium Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cumin
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1-½ teaspoon Black Pepper

Preparation

In a large, heavy, stock pot, brown ground beef, add onions. Drain off fat.

Add remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat. Cook, stirring every 15 minutes, for 2 to 3 hours.

*Makes about 12 servings. I usually freeze half for later.

This chili was excellent & SO easy! I even bought the pre-chopped onion & celery which made the prep even quicker. I used ground turkey instead of beef (make it healthier for my hubby & kids) and i used poblano peppers for the fresh peppers. Will definitely make this again!

This is a fantastic, mild chili that even the kids will love. It works well in the crock pot and freezes well, too. I have also used 1 cup dried pintos and 1 cup of dried black beans instead of the canned beans and it was delish! This recipe won the chili cook-off at our church this year. A must-try recipe!

I can’t believe nobody else has reviewed this, I actually feel guily that I haven’t but have made it several times. This is DELICIOUS, QUICK and super filling. It is an awesome chili recipe, I think my personal favorite ingredient is the green chilies! Thanks for sharing, this has become a favorite in my home..especially dished over fritos!
