A marvelous green chili stew. Great with warm tortillas, or on top of Huevos Rancheros.
In a heavy Dutch oven, brown hamburger until no longer pink. Add onion, saute until tender. Add spices, cook one minute. Add flour and mix well, about one minute to cook the flour taste out. Then add chicken stock and bring to a boil. Add green chilies, tomatoes and potatoes, let simmer for 30 to 45 minutes until potatoes are tender. Serve with tortillas, rice or beans. Can be garnished with sour cream, cilantro, and shredded cheese.
