I wanted to have a creamy sauce to serve over tortellini for dinner, but I didn’t have any parmesan cheese. So I created this recipe!
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. When the butter is melted, add the garlic and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Then whisk in the flour and cook for 2 minutes. Next, slowly whisk in the heavy cream. Add the basil, salt and pepper. Cook until thickened. Pour over your favorite pasta and enjoy!
