People will make you their leader. I’m not kidding.
Note: this is not so much a recipe as a technique for making your regular gravy the best it’s ever been.
Cook the package of bacon. Eat it. Er … ah … stick it in the fridge for breakfast tomorrow. Save all of the bacon grease and let it cool. (I have never used it immediately and do not know if it makes a difference.)
Prepare and bake a turkey as you normally would. About 1 hour prior to finishing baking, use a pastry brush to brush cooled bacon grease over the bird. Use a lot. If you want. But I would. Just sayin’.
When turkey is done, use drippings to prepare gravy as you normally would.
Prepare to be blown away.

Haha! You are very funny, manda! I wish it wasn’t too late to try this, but I really want people to make me their leader, so I will have to find another opportunity to make a turkey soon. Do you think this would work with roasting a chicken and making gravy for the chicken?
PS – your recipe made me laugh multiple times, such as in the ingredients list “stuff you would normally use to make your gravy” lol!

OH MAN! I wish I had seen this before thanksgiving! I’ll have to find a reason to prepare another turkey soon because we’re having ham for Christmas.
I’m guessing if you use the bacon fat while still hot, it might cook the skin when you brush it on and the skin would, in the end, be over cooked???
Sounds yummy!
