Southern Cornbread Dressing

Description
This is my family dressing recipe passed down from many generations of southern cooks. It is easy to prepare and so delicious. I think it is the boiled eggs that sets it apart from other dressing recipes.
Ingredients
- 3-½ cups Cubed White Bread
- 3-½ cups Corn Bread, Crumbled
- ⅔ cups Melted Butter
- 2 cups Chopped Onion, Saute With Celery
- 2 cups Chopped Celery, Saute With Onions
- 4 whole Boiled Eggs, Chopped
- 2-½ teaspoons Salt
- ½ teaspoons Black Pepper
- 2 teaspoons Sage
- 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
- 2 cups Corn Flakes, Crushed
- 3 cans (14 Oz. Can) Chicken Broth (maybe A Little Less)
Preparation
Mix every thing together. It should be more than moist and easily poured into the casserole dish but it shouldn’t be thin and runny. As my sister says, “Add broth until it looks right.”
Cook 1 hour at 325F, uncovered, in a 13-inch pan.
So tasty.
