Directly from Alabama to your kitchen…I grew up eating this and it is the BEST dressing around!
1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2.) In a large bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, dried white bread slices, and saltines; set aside.
3.) Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the celery and onion and cook until transparent, approximately 5 to 10 minutes.
4.) Pour the vegetable mixture over cornbread mixture.
5.) Add the stock, mix well, taste.
6.) Add salt, pepper to taste, sage, and poultry seasoning.
7.) Add beaten eggs and mix well.
8.) Pour mixture into a greased pan and bake until dressing is cooked through, about 45 minutes.

I love this dressing!!! I live in Alabama and this is the one we make. So delicious!!! I mean, why would you want another dressing after you have had this one.

This is the same dressing my family makes, the only exception we use stale biscuits instead of white bread. I don’t think it would affect the taste any. It is delicious and guests always ask for more AND the recipe. In fact, our family usually makes two huge dishes of this because it’s so incredible. Topped with turkey gravy… yum.

This looks so similiar to the dressing my grandmother used to make. I can’t wait to try it!
