Description

I never liked Cranberry Sauce until I tried this delicious concoction. Now it just smells and tastes like the holidays to me. It’s so quick and easy, there is no excuse for buying cranberry sauce in a can.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces, weight Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 whole Granny Smith Apple
  • 1 whole Anjou Pear
  • ¼ teaspoons Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoons Nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoons Cloves
  • 1 whole Orange, Zested

Preparation

Rinse cranberries and place in a medium sauce pan with sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until cranberries start to pop, about 10 minutes.

Peel and cube the apple and pear into small cubes. Zest the orange.

When cranberries start to pop, add remaining ingredients and cook for about 5 minutes or until apples and pears soften.

Everyone in my family enjoyed this recipe at Thanksgiving this past year. They all loved it so much it has become one of the “family recipes” I will be making every year from now on. Wonderful!

this is the same recipe I make every year once or twice around the holidays and people always rave about. I don’t add nutmeg is the only difference.

This is amazing and so much better than the tinned jelly version. The flavor combination is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
