Cream cheese and oatmeal “heart” shaped cookies, with pink icing!
Cream the softened butter, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla together. Add, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add oatmeal and nuts (if using—I usually omit them). Stir. Chill dough for 1 hour. Divide dough into 1-inch balls. Press flat on a cookie sheet. Pinch bottoms and “dent” the top to form hearts.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool for a couple of minutes before removing from the baking sheet, and cool on wire racks.
Mix the icing ingredients together. Thinly ice cookies. Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
