Description

A super antioxidant breakfast drink-get your kids to drink their greens

Ingredients

  • Yellow Layer
  • ¾ cups Filtered Water
  • ¾ cups Banana, Frozen Chunks
  • ¾ cups Pineapple, Frozen Chunks
  • Red Layer
  • ¾ cups Filtered Water
  • ¾ cups Banana, Frozen Chunks
  • ¾ cups Raspberries, Frozen (or Strawberries)
  • Blue Layer
  • ¾ cups Filtered Water
  • ¾ cups Banana, Frozen Chunks
  • ¾ cups Blackberries Frozen (or Blueberries)
  • 1 cup Fresh Spinach, Packed

Preparation

Put yellow layer ingredients in your blender and blend (on smoothie cycle if there is one) until smooth. Pour this into two or three glasses depending on the size of your glasses.

Rinse out your blender and add the red layer ingredients. Blend until smooth. To get the layers to remain separate, you need to pour the red smoothie slowly over the back of a soup spoon on top of the yellow smoothie.

Repeat the same steps with the blue smoothie ingredients.

Oh my gosh! Berry season is soon approaching and I’ve been looking for something healthy to do with them – besides, cobblers and cakes.

Thanks for such a pretty and healthy drink.

Fabulous! I was a little skeptical at first because, although I don’t make A LOT of smoothies, all of them that I have made have had dairy in them. I thought using just water would cause it to be bland and/or not very thick. And, spinach? In a smoothie? But, I am generally up for trying new things and since it looked so pretty, I gave it a try! I’m so glad I did!! My 3-year old and I both thought it was fantastic! Really, really good! My layers didn’t turn out quite as pretty as yours, but it was still worth making and I will definitely make it again. Thank You for sharing!!
