This delicious recipe came from a friend – and I never make the powdered stuff anymore. This recipe can easily be doubled and put in a larger pitcher.
Juice the lemons and the orange.
Mix the sugar with 1 cup of the water and heat to a slow boil, cooking for about 2 minutes until sugar is dissolved. This will allow the sugar to mix in better instead of sitting on the bottom of the pitcher. Allow to cool a little.
Mix the juices with the sugar water, remaining water, and ice cubes. Mix well and adjust lemon as necessary to desired tartness.
(I always double this recipe and serve in a large pitcher, as it goes so quickly. Black and Decker makes an inexpensive electric juicer that makes the job go like a snap.)

This is THE lemonade to have on a hot summer day! It is delightfully refreshing in every way. Aside from my unintentional rhyming…. I should warn you that once you’ve tried it, you may find yourself purchasing an exorbitant amount of lemons to help satisfy your new lemonade addiction. And that’s what it is folks… just try going a fortnight without having some, and you’ll know what I’m talking about!
