I love smoothies in the morning. They’re so versatile and quick. This one may be strange to some but I like that it’s healthy and still tastes good. Change, add, or omit as you please!
Throw everything into the blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
It will be a little grainy with the flax seed and wheat germ, so if you have texture issues, you could definitely leave those out. And sometimes I go nuts and use chocolate syrup instead of the honey. That’s the fun part about smoothies, there is no wrong way!

Jared – Thanks for the link! I love Alton Brown! That’s what I love about smoothies! You can throw just about anything in! I made this smoothie while I was pregnant. My husband thought I was nuts with the peanut butter!
Nick (blenderreviews) – I just have a 12 speed Hamilton Beach blender. I use it on the “smoothie” setting.

OH, and the best comment I have for all of these smoothie recipies is to just make them in a LARGE cup/glass and just use a stick/immersion blender.
Makes cleanup so so easy.
I actually prepare and drink it after I get to work in the little sink nook we have!

I make something similar to this based on Alton Brown’s Buff Smoothie:

It adds pomegranate juice.
Didn’t have the idea of peanut butter though, that would be interesting!
I might start adding protein powder too.
I bought some milled flax, we’ll see how that goes!

What kind of blender did you use?
There are two main types of smoothie blenders – masticating juicer or centrifugal types – I guess for breakfast the later one would be a good fit, since its fast to make smoothies.
