Description

This is way better than those cocoa packets you get from the store.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Sugar
  • ⅓ cups Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • ⅛ teaspoons Salt
  • ⅓ cups Half-and-half
  • 4 cups Whole Milk

Preparation

1. Stir together sugar, cocoa and salt in a medium saucepan; add half-and-half.
2. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
3. Simmer for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
4. Add milk; stirring constantly. Heat to desired serving temperature. Do NOT boil.
5. Remove cocoa from heat; whisk or beat until frothy. Top with whipped cream or marshmallows.

I just made this for the kiddies to sip as they watch yet another holiday movie! It turned out great and I sprinkled a dash of cayenne over my own for an extra kick … it was delicious!

very good. I used coconut milk instead of 1/2 and 1/2 (because that’s what I had on hand) and it was great!

Great for the kids after sledding. I used powdered sugar instead of regular because it was already out. Still turned out great!
