Perfect for Fourth of July, this summer drink is delicious and a nice change of pace from lemonade.
Place berries in a saucepan, reserving 1/3 cup for garnish. Smash berries in the saucepan and add 1 1/4 cup water and the sugar. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
Strain the mixture into a container and place it in the refrigerator to chill.
Meanwhile juice the limes, slicing a few for garnish.
In a pitcher, combine the remaining 5 cups of water with the cold blueberry syrup, lime juice and fruit garnishes. Serve over ice.
