Description

A delicious and unique topping for your favorite cupcakes!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Unsalted Butter, At Room Temperature
  • 4 Tablespoons Honey
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Heavy Cream

Preparation

In a stand mixer using the paddle attachment, cream together butter and honey for 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup of the powdered sugar. Begin with mixer on low speed until sugar is incorporated, then increase speed to medium and beat until smooth and creamy, about 3-5 minutes.

Add another cup of powdered sugar, again mixing on low speed to incorporate.

Add heavy cream at low speed. Mix on medium speed about 2 minutes until mixture is smooth.

You may need to add additional powdered sugar as needed for desired consistency.

Makes enough to frost approximately 12 cupcakes. Great as a topping for everything from plain old vanilla to peanut butter cupcakes. Get creative and try it with your favorite!

This was delicious! Good texture, fluffy, and sweet but not cloying. I can imagine putting in all sorts of other flavors. My husband tried it and said “Did you put squash in this?” The honey flavor was a bit of a shock for him. I did add a teaspoon of vanilla to tone down the honey flavor, but I still think it was great.

Definitely yummy…..I really like how it came together and the honey flavor is not overpowering! I will definitely be using this as my standby recipe!

This is a creamy frosting with a pretty buttery color and a slight honey taste. It is simple and very nice made exactly as the recipe directs.

I also tried it with a couple of additions. To part I added vanilla bean paste and I liked the added flavor.

To the rest I added fresh orange zest and I liked that a lot. It gives you the flavor of a fruit butter with the consistency and spreadability of a frosting.

Very versitile!
