Turtle Cake—A classic chocolate treat turned into a cake!
Preheat oven to 350 F. Unwrap caramels and get ready to melt them. Set aside.
Mix cake batter according to directions on the box. Spread half of the cake batter into a greased and floured 9×13 pan and bake at 350 F for 15 minutes.
While cake is baking, melt the butter, caramels and milk in a medium size saucepan on the stove at medium heat stirring constantly.
When done, remove cake from oven. Pour caramel mixture over cake, sprinkle 3/4 of the nuts over this; sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the nuts. Pour remaining cake batter over the top, smooth it out and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake an additional 20-25 minutes.
