Serve warm topped with ice cream . . . Heaven!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. Melt butter and pour into an 8 X 8 baking dish.
2. In a bowl..mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk.
Mixture will be lumpy.
3. Pour the flour mixture over melted butter.
DO NOT STIR.
4. Evenly arrange peaches on top of the flour mixture and add as much juice from peaches as desired.
DO NOT STIR.
5. Mix cinnamon with 1/2 cup of sugar and sprinkle over the peaches.
Bake for 45 minutes or until top crust is browned and bubbly.
Serve with ice cream. Oh yeah!
Note: This recipe works great with fresh in-season peaches too!

Made this the other night but substituted 2 cups fresh peaches that I let sit in sugar to create a syrup. Tasted great, it was a little sloppy but that could be b/c of my substitution. My mom and Grandma loved it!

Yes….this is a wonderful easy old time recipe. My nephew says it should be a food group! Ha!
This has become my signature recipe in my family!

Love this recipe! My Granny handed this one down to us. She called it “Career Girl Cobbler” because back in her day, most women didn’t work outside the home. She did, being fairly progressive, but was still expected to have a home cooked meal on the table when the Mister got home, including dessert. Career Girl Cobbler would go in the oven while they were sitting down for the main course and be done just in time. Nice to see that someone else makes this, too. It’s a family treasure for us!
