Description

This pie has a thick, dark filling and is so rich, you will only be able to eat one small slice at a time, but you will want to eat more!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Butter, Melted
  • 1 cup Chocolate Chips, Divided
  • ½ cups Flour
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups White Sugar
  • 2 whole Eggs, Beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Chopped Pecans
  • ½ cups Flaked Coconut
  • 1 whole 9-inch Deep Dish Pie Crust

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

In a large bowl, pour melted butter over 3/4 cup chocolate chips. Stir until all the chips are melted and chocolate is smooth.

In a separate bowl, mix together flour, brown sugar and white sugar. Stir into the butter/chocolate mixture. Mix well. Stir in the eggs and the vanilla. Fold in the pecans, coconut and remaining chocolate chips.

Pour into pie crust. Bake 40 minutes. Check to see if it is set; you may need to bake it an additional 5 minutes. The top should be set and may crack slightly. Do not over-bake. It is better if slightly under-baked.

This pie was easy to make and came out great. Small slices are definitely the way to go; it’s very rich. Mine was done (with small cracks beginning to form) in 35 minutes.
