Description

Homemade ice cream is a great way to celebrate summer. This recipe reminds of the white fluffy clouds of summer. It is light and creamy, not heavy and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 quart Milk
  • 1 pint Half-and-half
  • 2 cans (14 Oz) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla
  • Rock Salt, If Required By Your Ice Cream Maker
  • Crushed Ice, If Required By Your Ice Cream Maker
  • Your Favorite Ice Cream Topping (fruit, Cookies, Etc)

Preparation

Mix all ice cream ingredients (milk, half-and-half, condensed milk and vanilla) in the ice cream canister and place in ice cream maker.

Alternate adding ice and ice cream salt around your canister. Add more ice and salt as needed as your ice cream maker runs.

Start your machine; mine quits when the ice cream is ready. Follow your manufacturer’s instructions. Your ice cream needs to sit for at least 30 minutes before opening canister.

I wouldn’t advise pouring the leftover salt and water down your drain but rather on some unwanted weeds.

Garnish with you favorite fresh fruit, cookies, ice cream topping and or whipped topping.

Makes 4 quarts.

Rhonda!! We loved this ice cream recipe! I used half the ingredients to use my Cuisinart ice cream maker and added a bit more vanilla. Awesome and EASY recipe. I’ve tried cooking custard based recipes and cooking to dissolve sugars..this is by far the tastiest and easiest. I’m so excited to have a good recipe for this summer. Thanks so much for sharing! (used whole milk)
