Description

Strawberry crostada. It’s simple, it’s delicious, and it’s perfect for a summer dinner party.

Ingredients

  • 1-½ pound Strawberries
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar For Sprinkling
  • 8 ounces, fluid Cream Cheese, Softened
  • 2 Tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract
  • Store Bought Or Homemade Pie Crust

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Hull and slice strawberries. Sprinkle with sugar and set aside.

2. Mix together cream cheese, flour, sugar and vanilla.

3. Line large baking sheet with parchment paper and place the pie crust on the parchment paper. Using an off-set spatula, spread the cream cheese mixture on the pie crust leaving a one inch border around the edge. Pile the strawberries on top of the cream cheese mixture. Work your way around the pie crust folding the edges up every one inch or so.

4. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Allow to cool and serve at room temperature or slightly warm.

Ok,we just finished this after dinner. I added vanilla to the cream cheese mixture. It was a little tart so I think more like a 1/4 sugar would be just right. I tried it warm and it was not great. We chilled it and served it with homemade whipped cream and it was AWESOME!
Thank you for the recipe :O)

This was very tasty, but mine didn’t turn out as pretty as the one in the picture. I think I had too much juice with my strawberries. Also, I think the parchment paper is important. I used wax paper and it didn’t work very well.

I took this to a dinner and everyone loved it. I liked it better once it was cold though. Very easy to make.

Tried this last night. It could have been a bit sweeter and the cust got soggy on the bottom. The warm strawberries were a little odd. Overall it was easy to make and good for a summer dessert.

This looks AMAZING. I’m making it next time I need to show off at work.
