Description

Toasted French bread topped with mascarpone cheese, confectioners’ sugar and fresh sliced strawberries. Drizzle with melted chocolate or even Nutella for a simple dessert.

Ingredients

  • 16 slices French Bread Cut About 1/4 Inch Thick (for 16 Slices You'll Probably Need About 1/2 Loaf)
  • Nonstick Butter Cooking Spray
  • 8 ounces, weight Mascarpone Cheese
  • ¼ cups Confectioners Sugar
  • 2 cups Fresh Strawberries, Cleaned, Hulled And Sliced
  • 2 ounces, weight Good Quality Milk Chocolate

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 F.

Spray each slice of bread with nonstick cooking spray. Place them on a nonstick baking sheet. Bake for 4-5 minutes until toasted and golden brown. Turn over each slice of bread and continue to bake for another 4-5 minutes until the remaining side is toasted. Remove baking sheet from the oven and remove bread from the baking sheet. Set aside to cool.

In a small bowl combine mascarpone cheese and confectioners’ sugar. Stir until blended. Spread a generous amount of cheese mixture on each slice of toasted bread. Top with sliced strawberries.

Place chocolate in a small microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds. Carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the chocolate. Heat for additional 30 second increments if necessary, until chocolate is melted. Drizzle on top of the strawberries. Refrigerate or set aside until chocolate hardens.
