Description

This is my deconstructed version of the classic campfire treat.

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces, weight Semisweet Chocolate
  • 6 ounces, weight Bittersweet Chocolate
  • 1 cup Graham Crackers Broken Into Rough Pieces
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallows

Preparation

Draw a 9-inch by 10-inch rectangle on a piece of parchment paper and lay it in a sheet pan. Roughly chop the chocolate and melt in a double boiler over medium heat. Pour the chocolate over the sheet pan and spread in an even layer with in the rectangle. Drop the graham crackers and marshmallows over the chocolate and leave to set for 2 hours.

Made these today to test them for an upcoming bake sale. Didn’ t have bittersweet chocolate, so used Hershey’s Special Dark for that.

They look great and taste good — very fun!

Next time, I’m going to re-construct them a bit and put a layer of graham crackers down before the chocolate — as it is, the chocolate melts just from from holding it directly.

Also: I suggest keeping a wet paper towel nearby and taking care not to get chocolate on your fingers that leaves smudges on the marshmallows as you put them down.
