Couldn’t find red velvet cake mix. So I made it with Devil’s cake with white chocolate coating. Yummm!

These are so easy it’s ridiculous! Definitely use only 1/2-3/4 tub of frosting. Candy bark makes a nice crunch on the outside compared with soft cake center. I once tried chocolate chips/paraffin wax but the outside was soft and I missed the crunch. The only benefit was the balls did not crack and seep cake through.
This is a fabulous recipe. Thank you for sharing!

These are de-lish! Always gobbled up whenever we make them, and so easy to make whatever flavor combinations you want!

These are fantastic! My friends love it when I make them! My favorite combo is chocolate cake, dipped in white chocolate- yummy!
I usually dip about half of them and then freeze the rest because the recipe makes such a huge batch!
I dip them straight out of the freezer, but like the previous reviewer, once the cake mixture defrosts, it oozes out of the chocolate, but if you just wipe it off before displaying then it looks fine!
Also- I use chocolate bark rather than candy melts- and I haven’t ever had problems with cracking or much sweating.
Also, I have kept them in an airtight container on the counter overnight and they kept fine.

I have made these a few times now. They are always a hit. I completly cooled my cake before crumbling it though. I use fondue forks for the dipping.

These are my ‘go to’ treat when I have to take goodies somewhere. For some reason, all the teens & 20-somethings I know LOVE THEM. I am quite popular when I have cakeballs!

I made these as the surprise dessert for my annual Oscar party a couple of weeks ago. (I thought the whole red carpet-red velvet thing was cute.) My friends were completely amazed by these, and I may or may not have eaten about half of them myself. My only complaint is that I wish they made dark chocolate bark, because I think that would be even more delicious! Thank you, bakerella; these will become a tradition, I suspect!

I made these cake balls but the candy coating was way too thick. Perhaps it was the brand I used. Any suggestions on how to thin it out? Otherwise, my family loved them.

I made these the other day and they were awesome! but I had a hard time with the chocolate coating, I felt that it was a little too hard to dip and make them look good, does anyone of any suggestions? Maybe specific type of coating to use
