No need to frost this snack cake – the pudding makes it moist and delicious!
Make the pudding according to the package directions. Once thickened add the DRY cake mix. Batter will be thick and airy.
Spread into a greased 13×9 cake pan. Sprinkle top with chocolate chips and any nuts you desire.
Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
Many variations:
Butterscotch pudding and yellow cake mix. Add butterscotch chips and chopped pecans.
Lemon pudding and white cake mix. Add slivered almonds and drizzle with a glaze made of 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice – more or less to taste.
Banana cream pudding and spice cake mix. Add chopped walnuts.
Vanilla pudding and yellow cake mix. Use 1/2 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup peanut butter chips.
