I made these candy sushi cake decorations for a birthday cake for my husband, who is a sushi fanatic! He loved it and couldn’t believe I made them! These candy sushi are perfect on top of a cake or as a kid-friendly sushi experience.
To prepare round sushi:
Cut marshmallows in half. Cut Fruit Roll-Ups in strips to wrap marshmallow halves. Top with shredded coconut and a tiny piece of a Gummi Worm.
To prepare rectangular sushi:
Start with four rectangular white powdered sugar-covered cookies (or, a store-bought Rice Krispie Treat). Top with a Swedish Fish. Finally, wrap each with a strip of Fruit Roll-Up.
Wasabi and ginger:
Use green pieces of Gummi Worm to assemble wasabi. Use light red or pink strips from the Fruit Roll-Up to assemble ginger.
Assemble sushi on a cake or on a plate for a kid-friendly sushi dinner. Finally, top with chopsticks! (Wrap chopsticks with Fruit Roll-Up strips for extra color.)
