Description

Oat cereal bars with dried fruit and marshmallows.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Oat Cereal (such As Cheerios)
  • 2 cups Dried Fruit Of Your Choice (in This Case I Used Dried Cranberries)
  • 1 bag Marshmallows (16 Ounce Bag)
  • ½ sticks Unsalted Butter

Preparation

So Cory and I made a ton of these Oat Cereal Bars and then I wrapped them in waxed paper and put a ribbon around them for a bit of extra flair. Cory took them to the office and they were gone in a flash. They are de-li-cious.

Combine the Cheerios and dried fruit in a greased 13″ x 9″ pan.

Melt the butter in a separate pan on medium high heat and once melted add the marshmallows.

Once the marshmallows are melted take the pan off the heat and poor the mixture on top of the Cheerios/fruit mixture. Stir it up so everything is coated with marshmallows and then press the mixture down into the pan so that the top is even. (I usually spray my hands with some Pam and then use my hands to handle the mixture).

Let harden for about 2 hours. Then you can cut out perfect squares of deliciousness.

This is a great ‘go-to’ recipe. I sometimes modify it by reducing the butter to 1/4 cup, adding 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/2 cup nuts, 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/4 cup dried apricots.
