Making candy doesn’t have to be complicated: my grandma’s recipe for peanut brittle is easy to follow and makes the best peanut brittle you’ve ever had!
1. Bring the water to boil. Add sugar and white syrup.
2. Add raw peanuts and cook slowly over low heat until hard crack stage (300°-310ºF), stirring constantly.
3. Remove from heat and add butter, baking soda, and vanilla extract. Stir quickly.
4. Spread on large, well-buttered cookies sheet. Place in refrigerator until completely hardened and shiny. Use a knife to break up the pieces of peanut brittle into shards; it should crack easily.

What size cookie sheet is large? Maybe a 13×9 size?
