You can make your own marshmallows at home and add flavors and colors that you can’t get at the store.
Dissolve gelatin in cold water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in food coloring, flavoring of choice, and vanilla; set aside. Cook the sugar and warm water to soft ball stage (235ºF). In a large mixing bowl, beat egg whites until stiff; set aside.
Beat cooked syrup into the gelatin mixture and mix until tough and elastic. Fold into egg whites until well blended. Quickly spoon into greased candy molds or pan and allow to set. Store in an airtight container.
