Homemade hard candy: any flavor, any color, always delicious and fun.
Combine sugar, syrup, and water in a pan and mix thoroughly. Place on high heat and stir constantly until boiling. When crystals form on the sides of the pan, wipe them away with a wet brush.
Place a candy thermometer in the mixture and boil to hard crack stage (310ºF). Remove from heat and stir in flavoring (flavored oil), coloring of choice, and the citric acid. Pour into greased sucker molds and press sucker sticks into each sucker before they cool.
Remove from molds and wrap each sucker in an individual candy bag or plastic wrap.
