Description

These Mini Strawberry Heart Pies are the perfect dessert for spoiling your sweetie on Valentine’s Day or for entertaining party guests!

Ingredients

  • 2  Refrigerated Pie Crusts
  • 1 cup Strawberry Jam
  • 1  Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Sparkling Sugar
  • FOR THE GLAZE:
  • ½ cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Milk Or Heavy Cream
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

Gently unroll each pie crust onto a lightly floured surface. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out an even number of hearts from each pie crust.

Place half of hearts onto prepared baking pan. Spread about 1 tablespoon jam onto each heart on the baking pan. Take the remaining hearts and place over the heart with the jam. Using a fork, press down the edges of pie crust to lightly seal.

In a small bowl, whisk egg and water. Brush over the tops of each heart. Sprinkle sparkling sugar over each heart.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until hearts are golden. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes on pan. Then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

When pies are cooled, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract.

Take each mini pie and dunk into the glaze. Top with sprinkles, if desired. Enjoy!
