Description

Really a short dense cake, these treats are sweetened by honey alone. They are delicious and super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Honey
  • ½ cups Butter, Softened
  • 1 whole Egg
  • ½ teaspoons Vanilla
  • 1-½ cup Flour, White Whole Wheat Or All Purpose
  • ½ teaspoons Baking Powder
  • ½ teaspoons Salt

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Cream honey with butter until fluffy.

3. Beat in egg and vanilla.

4. Mix well and then gently fold in flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Line an 8×8 pan with butter and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Let cool, then cut into squares.

Alternatives:
Add 1 cup chocolate chips before baking.
Bake in silicone shaped pans, like the hearts pictured.

Really good recipe, has become one of our favorites! In a pinch, we’ve added some Agave in when low on honey. Hershey’s sugar free chocolate chips is awesome in it! Thank you for this as my family has a lot of diabetics so this is a perfect recipe for us!
