Description

Crisp apples and pears, spiced with sweet cinnamon and nutmeg, sugar and melted butter all topped with an amazing gluten-free oat crust!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE FILLING:
  • 4  Honeycrisp Apples
  • 4  Pears
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 2 Tablespoons Melted Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • FOR THE CRUST:
  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 cup Gluten-free All-purpose Flour
  • ¾ cups Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ cups Cold Butter, Diced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • Salt

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350ºF. Spray an 8×8 baking dish with cooking spray.

Peel and cut apples and pears into small slices or cubes. Place into a large mixing bowl. Add the rest of the filling ingredients and stir well to coat all of the apples and pears. Pour filling evenly into the bottom of baking dish.

For the gluten-free oat topping, just add all ingredients except butter to a mixing bowl and whisk, Add butter and using a pastry cutter, two forks or just your hands, mix in butter, cutting it into the oat mixture, breaking the butter into small pieces.

Pour the topping evenly over the apple and pear filling and bake for 45 minutes. Remove and let cool for a few minutes. Top with your favorite vanilla ice cream and enjoy!
