A rich, hot, fudge icing.
This is my mother-in-law’s recipe that she uses to pour over chocolate cake. I use it on yellow cake as well. You could also pour it over ice cream. Yum!
Measure all ingredients except vanilla, and melt over medium heat in a medium frying pan. Bring to a bubble for about 20 seconds, then remove from heat and add vanilla. We make holes in our cake and pour the icing over the top.

Hello! I’m on a quest to find the perfect poured fudge icing, and this one looks smashing. Just a couple of questions: does it firm up or stay gooey? And how much does it make? Like, would it be a thin layer on a 9×13 cake or 1/4 inch thick? Thanks.
