A cake filled with apples and nuts that is delicious after Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.
Peel and chop apples into small cubes, enough to make 4 cups. Chop 1 cup pecans. Mix all other ingredients in a big bowl in the order given. To this mixture, add pecans and apples. Pour into an ungreased oblong pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes. Use a toothpick to check for doneness.
Note: walnuts can be substituted for pecans.
