Description

Classic five minute fudge

Ingredients

  • 1-⅔ cup Sugar
  • ⅔ cups Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • ¼ teaspoons Salt
  • 1-½ cup Semisweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ½ cups Walnuts, Chopped (optional)

Preparation

To make this on the stovetop:
1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with waxed paper, set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter and salt. Bring to boil and stir constantly. Boil 4 to 5 minutes or until mixture starts to thicken. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips, vanilla and nuts (if desired) and mix until the chocolate is melted.
3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until set for at least 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

To make this in the microwave:
1. Line an 8-inch square baking pan with waxed paper, set aside.
2. In a large, microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips, condensed milk, and butter. Microwave in 1-minute increments until melted, about 2-3 minutes.
3. Mix until all of the chocolate chips are melted, then add the vanilla and salt. Stir until the mixture is well blended and smooth.
3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until set for at least 4 hours or overnight. Cut into 1-inch squares. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

Enjoy!
