My sister-in-law gave me this recipe years ago and it works great for decorating sugar cookies any time of year. The icing hardens, so the cookies may be stacked.
Beat egg white until frothy using whisk. Gradually add 3 cups of powdered sugar, mixing until very thick and smooth. Add water to thin and get desired consistency.
Divide icing into small bowls (as many bowls as you have colors). Add different colors of food coloring to each bowl, one drop at a time until you get the color you want. If necessary, add more water by teaspoonfuls, mixing well after each addition, until desired consistency is reached.
*1 Tablespoon of meringue powder can be substituted for egg white. If you do this, just add to the powdered sugar and use additional 2 Tablespoons of warm water.
** I use sandwich bags filled with the different colors. Simply snip a tiny corner off and then decorate. Be sure the Ziploc is closed!

Your cookies are beautiful. Do you flood fill your cookies or just pipe all the way?
