Description

My dad would make this simple cobbler whenever the mood struck. It’s one of my favorite memories of him!

Ingredients

  • FOR THE DOUGH:
  • 1-½ cup Bisquick
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • ⅓ cups Sugar
  • ¼ cups Milk
  • _____
  • FOR THE PEACHES:
  • 2 cans Sliced Peaches, 15 Oz. Can
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch

Preparation

Mix peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, and cornstarch in a casserole dish or medium-sized dutch oven. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, and place peaches in the oven to pre-warm.

In a separate bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients until a sticky dough forms. Roll out or press with your hands until the dough is roughly the size of the casserole dish. Place the dough on top of warmed peaches. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the top of the cobbler is golden brown.

The inside will be hot, gooey, doughy, and sweet! Awesome with vanilla ice cream.

THE WOMEN IN MY FAMILY HAVE LOOKED HIGH AND LOW FOR A RECIPE FOR PEACH COBBLER OUR GRANDFATHER USED TO MAKE. WE SEAM TO REMEMBER THAT HE MADE IT ON TOP OF THE STOVE (BUT MAYBE NOT) BUT HE ALWAYS MADE IT IN A CAST IRON SKILLETT.THIS RECIPE IS THE CLOSEST WE HAVE COME YET. IT IS BAKING RIGHT NOW AS I WRITE AND WE ALL SIT HERE IN ANTISAPATION. ITS AMAZING HOW WHEN YOU GET OLDER THESE SIMPLE THINGS MEAN SO MUCH. AND I HOPE OUR GRANDCHILDREN WILL REMEMBER IT IN THE WAY WE DO. THANK-YOU SO MUCH
