This is a simple pound cake, the kind my mother would make when I was growing up. The addition of the cream cheese really creates a wonderful moist cake. I used mini chocolate chips in my cake. I think it looks better than large blobs of chocolate, but any sized chips would work fine.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Butter and lightly flour a medium-sized bundt pan. Mix together the flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and cream cheese with an electric hand mixer. Add the sugar and mix for about 3 minutes until light. Add the vanilla extract and then the eggs one at a time, mixing between each addition. Add the flour mixture and continue to mix on low just until combined. Do not over mix. Pour the mixture into your prepared pan and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean. Cool before cutting.

I made this cake this morning to bring to the office. It was easy to make. I just guessed that a 12 oz. bag of mini-chips would fill the bill, and it did. Very tasty.

Hi Deborah! This recipe looks delicious! I just can’t find the chocolate chips anywhere. How much do you add? Thanks!
