Description

Who has time for a chocolate covered strawberry? I mean the chocolate always falls off when you take that first bite and there is never enough chocolate in the chocolate to strawberry ratio situation. And let’s not forget the totally delicious chocolate covered banana. That guy got revamped too. Because who wants a whole freaking banana? This my friends, is the correct banana to chocolate ratio!

Ingredients

  • 11-½ ounces, weight Premium Milk Chocolate (I Only Use Guittard Chocolate)
  • 6  Large Strawberries, Washed And Hulled
  • 1  Banana, Peeled
  • ½ cups Chopped Nuts

Preparation

1. Heat half of your milk chocolate in a microwave safe bowl for 30 second intervals. Make sure to stir the chocolate in between the intervals. Once completely melted, pour in the rest of the milk chocolate chips and let the chips melt with the heat of the other chocolate. Do not put it back into the microwave. This is called “tempering”.

2. Pour about a half inch of melted chocolate into a non-stick whoopie pie tin (this is what I used) or a regular muffin tin. Slice your strawberries and banana and place some of each very gently into the middle of the melted chocolate circle. Sprinkle with chopped nuts if desired.

3. Refrigerate until set; about 25 minutes. They will pop right out of the tin once the chocolate is set.

Tip: These are best made and eaten the same day. As the fruit sits the juice starts to come out and cover the chocolate. They are still super yummy on the second and third day. They just don’t look so hot!
