Description

A twist on peanut butter squares with added pecans.

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cups Crushed Graham Crackers
  • 1-¼ cup Confectionery Sugar
  • ¼ cups Brown Sugar
  • ¾ cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, Divided
  • ½ cups Chopped Pecans
  • 2 cups Milk Chocolate Chips

Preparation

Yields 25 squares.

Spray a 9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Place crushed graham crackers, confectionery sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter in a mixing bowl. Then add in 5 tablespoons of butter and the chopped pecans and mix on medium speed. The mixture needs to be a little crumbly still, or it will not harden. Take the peanut butter graham cracker mixture and place it into the pan, spreading it out evenly around 1/4 inch thick.

To heat the chocolate, take the remaining 1 tablespoon butter and chocolate chips place in a sauce pan and melt over low heat (to avoid burning the chocolate). Stir frequently until the chocolate is melted and smooth.

While the chocolate is still hot, place on top of the graham cracker mixture and spread over the top evenly. Place into the refrigerator for approximately 2 hours until the bars are nice and hard. Cut into squares and enjoy!

Note: You can crush the graham crackers by using a Ziploc bag and a can or just using your hand to squish them together.
