Description

I know it sounds like a strange pairing but sweet chocolate with salty potato chips is AWESOME! Add a few mini chocolate chips or coarse salt on top to make these extra special. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • ½ cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • ½ teaspoons Vegetable Shortening
  • ¼ bags (10 Oz. Bag) Ruffled Potato Chips
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Salt
  • 2 Tablespoons Mini Chocolate Chips (optional)

Preparation

1. In a small glass dish, combine chocolate chips and shortening.
2. Heat in a microwave oven on high 30 seconds to 1 minutes or until melted and smooth when stirred.
3. Brush chips, one at a time, with a thick layer of chocolate, coating one half to three quarters of each chip.
4. Place chips on parchment or wax paper-lined baking pan.
5. Lightly sprinkle salt on top or mini chocolate chips.
6. Let stand at room temperature 15 minutes, then refrigerate for another 15 minutes or until set.

Do you coat both sides of the chips with the melted chocolate or just one side?

I may have to make these! I had “chocolate chips” when I was little. They really are good! Thanks for sharing.
