Description

Great for parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (21 Oz. Size) Cherry Pie Filling
  • 2 teaspoons Almond Extract
  • 26 whole Wonton Wrappers
  • ½ cups Water
  • 1 whole Egg White
  • 1 Tablespoon Water

Preparation

1. Preheat your oven to 375F.
2. Mix cherry pie filling and almond extract in a bowl.
3. Take one wonton wrapper and top with about 1 Tablespoon of cherry mix in the center.
4. Put the 1/2 cup of water into a small bowl. Use a little bit of the water to wet your finger and run it along the edges of the wrapper (you may need to dip your finger in the water a few times). The water will help the other wrapper stick.
5. Top with another wrapper and seal edges with a fork. Repeat steps 3-5 with remaining wontons and filling.
6. In another small bowl combine egg white and 1 Tablespoon of water. Mix well to make a egg wash. Using a pastry brush, brush each pie with egg wash.
7. Pop in the oven for 12 minutes.
8. Remove and let cool a bit. Eat while warm or cold.

That is a really good idea! I bet they would be wonderful served warm with a scoop of ice cream over the top!!!

That sounds like a HUGE amount of almond flavoring. When I add almond flavoring to my cherry pie filling, I use a FEW drops! Can’t imagine what 2 teaspoons to one can of pie filling would taste like! ! ! !
