Description

Not enough apples for an apple crisp and not enough biscuits for Monkey bread? Combine what you have on hand for this treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury Grands Jr. Homestyle Biscuits
  • 2 whole Apples
  • ½ cups Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • ½ cups Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons Sweetened Condensed Milk (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375F. Grease a 9″ loaf pan.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a gallon-sized plastic bag.

Seperate and quarter the biscuits.

Peel and quarter the apples. Remove core pieces and then slice into 1/4 inch slices across the width (bite-sized pieces).

Toss the biscuits and apples into the cinnamon sugar mixture and then place them in the loaf pan (don’t pack it down).

In a small sauce pan, melt butter, brown sugar and corn syrup together until the mixture boils and the sugar is completely dissolved. Add sweetened condensed milk if desired and cook for a minute longer.

Pour caramel over the top of the mixture in the loaf pan and bake until it has risen and browned (about 40 minutes).

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out on a serving dish (allow all the caramel to come out, that’s the good stuff).

Serve. It’s delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
