Peanut butter balls dipped in chocolate—a classic Ohio treat!
Mix confectioner’s sugar, peanut butter, vanilla and butter until the sugar is blended thoroughly. Form into balls about 1 inch in diameter, and freeze on a baking sheet while you make the chocolate coating.
Melt the chocolate chips and the wax (for shininess) together in a double boiler.
Get out your peanut butter balls and poke a toothpick into them to dip in the chocolate and swirl around, leaving a small uncovered circle on top.
Set on waxed paper to dry, and enjoy!
This recipe makes an awful lot of buckeyes. Feel free to halve the recipe!
